Latin Grammy-winning Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny (aka. Benito Antonio MartÃnez Ocasio) has been set to star in Marvel and Sony Pictures’ “El Muerto,” making him the first Latino lead in a Marvel live-action movie.
The character of El Muerto, aka Juan Carlos, is a super-powered wrestler who originally fought Spider-Man in a charity wrestling match. After his oppressor El Dorado came to claim his life, he was saved by Spider-Man, after which the two team up to defeat Dorado.
The film was announced out of the blue at CinemaCon in Las Vegas and it has reportedly set a January 12th 2024 release date. Bad Bunny will be seen in the big screen this Summer in “Bullet Train” which Sony is also releasing.
