Rejected The Bachelor star Jay Lal’s famous ex has been revealed, after she was eliminated when it emerged she dated the New Zealand bachelor.

Despite being the favourite from day one, The Bachelor star Jay Lal was sent packing on last night’s penultimate episode.

The third runner-up appeared to seal her fate after a prickly conversation with Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson about rumours she dated a famous person prior to entering the mansion.

Questioning whether or not she was on the show for the right reasons on their final date, Jay came clean and said she’d previously dated the New Zealand Bachelor, whom we can reveal was this year’s leading man, Moses Mackay.

“It does look suss,” Jimmy told the camera. “Now I’m wondering, is Jay here for me? Or is she just here to bag herself another Bachelor?”

Jay insisted she dated the Kiwi reality star long before he became the Bachelor this year, but that wasn’t enough for Jimmy to give her a rose in last night’s ceremony, leaving Brooke Cleal and Holly Kingston to battle it out in tonight’s finale.

In a post-elimination interview with 10 Play, Jay doubled down on claims she dated Moses long before he gained a public profile.

“I dated this guy about six or seven years ago and it was such a short-term relationship,” Jay told the website. “And he wasn’t particularly that much in the limelight when I dated him … I actually felt sorry for him that it had been brought up.

“I had to actually message him and be like, ‘Just letting you know this has happened.’”

Jay, 32, became a frontrunner in the first episode when Jimmy gifted her the ‘Business Lounge’ key, which allowed her to have private time with the Bach at cocktail parties whenever she wanted.

The Sydney-based nutritionist said she felt the advantage left her with a “target” on her back, as she quickly succumbed to rumours she was only on the show for fame.

This was exasperated when gossip swirled that Jay had said to a make-up artist off-camera that she wanted to be Jimmy’s runner-up because they become more successful on Instagram.

“I didn’t think I rubbed anyone up the wrong way, I think the only way people would have made those rumours or wanted to say those rumours about me was because I did have that key. I think that kind of put a target on my back from day one,” Jay said.

“That’s probably the hardest thing, people thinking I’m not genuine, because I’m probably the most honest – maybe too honest at times – person.

“When my friends and family see it even they got a bit upset because they know that’s far from who I am. That was one of the most difficult things. People thinking I’m not a genuine person.”

The Bachelor finale airs tonight on Channel 10 at 7.30pm

Joe Rogan tests positive to COVID-19 - 9News

Joe Rogan, one of the world's highest paid and most influential podcast hosts, announced he has tested positive for COVID-19 and said he'd embarked on a fringe treatment regime.

Rogan said he felt "very weary" on Saturday and got tested for COVID-19 the following day, in a video posted to his official Instagram account.

He said ahead of the test he quarantined from his family and "throughout the night, I got fevers and sweats and I knew what was going on".

Rogan's revealing his positive diagnosis comes after he dismissed to some extent the usefulness of the vaccine on his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience".

In April, Rogan told listeners that if a 21-year-old asked him if they should get vaccinated, he would suggest they do not.

"If you're a healthy person, and you're exercising all the time, and you're young, and you're eating well, like, I don't think you need to worry about this," Rogan said.

He later clarified his comments, saying he is "not an anti-vax person" and that he is "not a respected source of information, even for me."

In Wednesday's video, Rogan said he took several medications after his diagnosis, including the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin, the use of which has become popular among fringe and anti-vaccine communities, and which US health officials have strongly advised against.

Spotify signed an exclusive licensing deal with Rogan in May 2020 and has repeatedly touted his success in its company earnings reports.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek stood by and promoted the podcast host amid the controversy over Rogan's April remarks.

Ek told Bloomberg at the time, "What I will say is we have 8 million creators, and hundreds of millions of pieces of content. We have a content policy and we do remove pieces that violate it."

Spotify did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Rogan said he has postponed his show in Nashville, which was scheduled for Friday

"My apologies to everyone," Rogan said.

"Obviously it is nothing that I can control. It is what it is. Crazy times we're living in."

Britain's media regulator has cleared TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan of any broadcasting code violations for making comments about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, that drew thousands of viewer complaints.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes has spoken of her pain after the death of her husband.

Gregg Leakes died of colon cancer on Wednesday at the age of 66, reports Page Six. His death came just days after NeNe publicly revealed his health struggles in a heartbreaking admission on a night out.

“Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” the couple’s representative said in a press release.

The statement continued: “We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”

Over the weekend, NeNe, 53, was recorded telling patrons of her Atlanta lounge, The Linnethia, that her husband could possibly be losing his battle with cancer.

In footage obtained by It’s OnSite, Leakes, 53, is seen addressing customers who called her “rude” for not acknowledging a birthday in the crowd, leading the star to share her personal pain.

“My husband is transitioning to the other side,” she told the room before turning to acknowledge those who called her out.

“You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business. So, when people approach and say, ‘You’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say ‘happy birthday,’ OK?”

The Real Housewives star was flooded with supportive messages from her former co-stars upon hearing the heartbreaking news of her husband’s death.

Gregg was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018, but it went into remission after six months of chemotherapy. But in June, things took a turn for the worse, with NeNe confirming that his cancer had returned.

“I’d love for everybody to pray for Gregg, that would be beautiful. Pray for his strength,” she said at the time, adding, “And pray for me too.”

NeNe and Gregg first married in 1997 but divorced in 2011. They then remarried in 2013. They shared a 22-year-old son, Brentt.

Shortly before his father’s death, Brentt shared an emotional message on Instagram that read, “Spend time with your loved ones every chance you get. Time is so … valuable dog. I can’t express it. I’m learning the hard way watching my dad fight every day. Please go create memories with ya people.”

It’s the semi-final and of course I’m still watching. Ha. “Watching.” The episode’s just playing in the background while I do more important things like scrolling through real estate I’ll never be able to afford and following Drew Barrymore’s DIY kitchen renovation on Instagram.

It’s time for the final dates. You guys know the drill: there’s no more money in the budget, so producers scrounge together the half-empty bottles of wine that are rolling around the fridge in the Studio 10 kitchenette and then scoop up whatever loose change is at the bottom of Sandra Sully’s handbag.

First up, we find ourselves aboard an old boat on an overcast day where Holly talks endlessly about her parents’ divorce. It’s the most uplifting moment of the entire series.

For Jay’s date, producers trick the Sydney Symphony Orchestra into giving a private performance. For weeks, Jay has been battered by rumours she’s only on the show for fame. There was the gossip about how she allegedly said she wanted to be the runner-up instead of the winner because they do better on Instagram. And just last week at the home town visit, her mate told Jimmy that Jay has secret ambitions to be a TV presenter and that she has a famous ex.

Jimmy knows what he needs to do: launch a dramatic confrontation. It’s the perfect setting. As he exposes her and reads out the laundry list of accusations, the violinists in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra can play that screechy Psycho theme music. Maybe Jimmy can even steal one of the cellists’ bows and wave it around for dramatic effect while he makes his point. Of course producers don’t think of any of this. Yet another missed opportunity.

Finally, Jimmy goes and says what we’re all thinking. “I’ve got so many things running through my mind, like: Who is this famous person?”

Jay doesn’t hesitate in revealing the celebrity.

“They have The Bachelor in New Zealand,” she smiles. “ … And … he’s The Bachelor New Zealand.”

Well. That’s a let down. It’s like when Channel 7 revealed the cast of celebrity Big Brother and the biggest name on the list was Meghan Markle’s weird stepbrother. We want someone who’s actually famous — like Chris Hemsworth’s cranky neighbour.

“It does look suss,” Jimmy sighs to us. “Now I’m wondering, is Jay here for me? Or is she just here to bag herself another Bachelor?”

That’s the thing about being The Bachelor. You can never really tell if people like you for you, or if they’re just dazzled by the fact you’ve been in the same room as Osher. ‘Tis the price of fame.

For Brooke’s final date, producers scout the most romantic destination they can find: A vacant jacuzzi at an inner-city gymnasium.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Last time I went on a date that involved a jacuzzi, I got an all-body rash because of bacteria in the water. Hope they’ve brought a prescription steroid ointment.

“We’ve been dating for a little while now so I wanna show Jimmy a little bit of the sexy side to me and I wanna build on our sexual chemistry a little,” Brooke giggles to us.

We kinda wish the Sydney Symphony Orchestra was also on this date so, when things get sexy, they could play the Psycho theme music again for comedic effect.

Brooke was once a frontrunner, but now Jimmy’s having second thoughts.

“She’s a little bit more intense than I remember,” he mumbles to us.

We roll our eyes. Jimmy, c’mon. That’s ridiculous. She’s not inten-

“I honestly do feel like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend right now,” she whispers over the whirling jet streams of the spa. “I’m falling harder for you now more than ever. And it’s so scary … But I love the thrill of it.”

When it comes time for the rose ceremony, it’s lacking the nailbiting tension of past semi-finals. Partly because we know who’s going home. But mostly because we don’t care.

Brooke and Holly get tossed a rose. And Jay’s told to hit the bricks.

“It just feels like sh*t,” she sobs as the Uber drives away from the mansion.

She’s distraught. Of course she is. She missed out on the one thing she came here for: the title of runner up.

The ‘Toxic’ singer wants her father to remove himself as conservator immediately or risk court suspension on Sept. 29

Britney Spears says her father, Jamie P. Spears, is attempting to extort her as he prepares to exit the conservatorship he’s helmed for 13 years, according to her attorney.

Court documents obtained by Fox News on Tuesday claim Jamie has already accepted the fact his time as pseudo-CEO of Spears’ life is coming to an end – and thus, he should simply bow out right now instead of dragging out the inevitable.

“Mr. Spears was forced to concede in his August 12, 2021 ‘First Response’ to Britney Spears’s Petition to remove him that he must depart — and his departure is now inexorable,” Spears’ attorney, former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, told Fox News in a statement on Tuesday.

“As we wrote in our new filing with the Court, however, the quid pro quo preconditions that Mr. Spears’s sought in his August 12, 2021 court filing are inappropriate and unacceptable,” he continued, adding, “Britney Spears will not be bullied or extorted by her father.”

Spears’ camp has consistently claimed that Jamie is seeking some $2 million on his way out – a portion of which is likely to land in the hands of his attorneys and her former business manager, Tri-Star.

When Jamie agreed to step aside from his post as conservator, he did so under the pretence that he would have to say yes to a succession plan he felt would be suitable and to his liking.

However, Spears’ camp is now saying such a request is his attempt to control his daughter until the absolute last moment possible.

“Nor does Mr. Spears have the right to try to hold his daughter hostage by setting the terms of his removal,” the statement from Rosengart reads. “This is not about him, it is about the best interests of his daughter, which as a matter of law, mandate his removal.”

Added the litigator: “Even putting aside the legal issues requiring his prompt removal, if he loves his daughter, Mr. Spears should resign now, today, before he is suspended. It would be the correct and decent thing to do.”

The two have been locked in a court battle over the past few years as the singer works to regain control of her life.

“Mr. Spears’s blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms. Spears’s estate by Mr. Spears and his associates, is a non-starter,” the court filing reads.

Jamie has controlled Spears’ conservatorship since 2009 after she went through a series of involuntary psychiatric holds.

She adds in the memorandum that the court should suspend her father by Sept. 29 – the next court hearing in her conservatorship — if he hasn’t removed himself by then.

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander has been arrested at a US airport, posting a bizarre Instagram rant about the incident afterwards.

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander was arrested for an alleged security violation Sunday at a Nashville airport, Page Six reports.

The 39-year-old – best known for being married to the Toxic pop star for 55 hours in 2004 – was temporarily taken into custody and charged with a misdemeanour, according to criminal court records.

Records also show his bail was set at $US2500 ($A3400).

A rep for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six on Tuesday that Alexander was “booked into jail on August 29 and released on August 30”.

He is due back in court on September 24.

The exact details of what transpired at the airport are not known, and a rep for the Metro Police Department – which handles airport arrests – was not immediately available for comment.

However, according to Radar Online, Alexander was arrested for allegedly trespassing into the “non-secure” area of the TSA and attempting to skip the line. He was reportedly then handcuffed and taken into a room for questioning.

In a rambling 25-minute Instagram Live Alexander called his arrest an “inconvenience”, saying in part that he ended “up in handcuffs because of something stupid”.

Recording the video while driving his car shirtless, he spoke about the “stupid arse virus” and ranted about vaccines.

“What’s happened to me should never happen to anybody,” he said.

“I did nothing wrong but I got freaking treated like … and still! With news articles being printed about the situation. This is f***ing gnarly, dude.”

This isn’t the first time this year that Spears’ ex has run into some legal trouble.

In February, Alexander was arrested on DUI and drug charges, including driving under the influence, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance.

According to court records obtained by Page Six, those cases are still open.

Alexander’s lawyer did not immediately return the publication’s request for comment.

Although Alexander’s marriage to Spears, 39, was brief, he has still shown his support for the Overprotected singer amid her contentious conservatorship battle.

In August 2020, he was spotted at a #FreeBritney protest, which was staged to fight Jamie Spears against his control over his daughter’s finances.

“She definitely wants her dad out of the picture as far as the conservatorship,” Alexander said on Instagram Live at the time.

Divorce lawyer Mark Goldberg, who claims he advised Alexander amid his split from Spears, said the young couple didn’t want the nuptials annulled when they wed but did so because Britney’s mum, Lynne Spears, found out and “all hell broke loose”.

Britney and Alexander tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in January 2004 after growing up together. The vows were annulled by a petition that stated the performer “lacked understanding of her actions”.

Alexander recently said on the Toxic: The Britney Spears Story podcast that he felt duped into signing the annulment papers.

“They told me if I would sign the contracts – the annulment – they would let me and Britney continue our relationship, and if we felt the same way in six months, they would give us a proper marriage,” he recalled. “So I had no reason to believe otherwise.”
